Artist Statement

The world is forever comic and tragic, beautiful and grotesque, which suggests that important physical and psychological realities exist simultaneously.  In my work I employ these dichotomies in order to discuss and portray my philosophical and aesthetic ideas concerning life, art and emotional intelligence.

Most of my work makes use of dark humor, innuendo and “inside” jokes to critique and understand human and non-human relationships on this vulnerable blue planet and the morose beauty of the universe. As a lover of maximalism in art I love to cram every nook and cranny of the visual space with detail and information - encouraging the viewer to dare to look closer, to inspect and hopefully to find something new every time they revisit the work.
